Ivan Parker was born December 21, 1957 in Sanford, North Carolina. In 1982 Ivan joined the Singing Americans where he traveled for one year before joining Gold City in 1983. He remained with Gold City for over a decade winning multiple singing news fan awards for Favorite Lead Singer, and favorite male singer. In 1994, Ivan left Gold City to travel as a solo artist. He has released over twenty albums as a solo artist and has been named favorite solo artist multiple times by singing news fans.
