John Whisnant History
John Whisnant of Morganton, NC is a "Jack Of All Trades" John is a gospel singer, DJ and Pastor. John began singing with his family group, The Whisnants, in 1970 at the age of 7. John sang and traveled with "The Whisnants" until 1993 when he answered the call to preach and became pastor of New Perspective Community Church (previously Grandview Baptist.)
John still does occasional solo concerts while pastoring and serves as the owner and operator of WCIS Radio. WCIS Radio is a radio station that serves up excellent preaching and southern gospel music 24 hours a day. John has been honored as the singing news fan awards Favorite Small Market DJ.
John has a passion for southern gospel music but more importantly has a passion for the souls of the people he ministers to. John has become a dear friend to the admins here at southern gospel music and will bless you if you will allow him to do so.
