The Talleys (previously The Talley Trio) was started in the 1960s by siblings Diane, Kirk and Roger Talley. The group remained together until 1974 when Roger auditioned for the position of pianist for The Hopper Brothers and Connie.
During this time the Talleys were not traveling as a family group. Roger was playing piano for the Hopper Brothers and Connie and was later joined by Kirk singing Tenor. Kirk left the Hoppes and joined the Cathedrals in 1979.
At this time Roger's wife, Debra, joined the Hoppers. In 1983 Kirk Talley resigned from the Cathedrals and joined with Roger and Debra who had recently left the Hoppers to begin singing again as a family group.
The Talleys retired from 1993 to 1996. In 1996 they began traveling again with Roger, Debra and their daughter, Lauren.
During this time the Talleys traveled as "The Talley Trio." This name was changed in 2011 when Lauren married Brian Alvey. At this time they began traveling again as "The Talleys" and have retained this name.
In 2019, The Talleys announced that they would retire from singing at the end of 2020. Roger will continue to produce albums for other artist while Debra will be speaking at various women's confrences.
Lauren plans to continue traveling as a solo artist ramping up travel schedule to full time appearances.
